Building The Rachel Edit Brand
Brand Identity
The Rachel Edit is a boutique social media and creative studio based in San Diego, created for lifestyle and design-forward brands that want to look elevated online and grow, created by me (Rachel!) The goal from day one wasn’t to feel trendy, but to feel timeless, intentional, and recognizable at a glance.
This case study breaks down how I built the brand identity and how that branding quickly turned into real business.
The Goal
Create a brand that could do three things immediately:
Feel premium but fun and playful
Communicate “strategy + aesthetics” instantly
Attract the exact right clients (interior designers, builders, lifestyle brands, and creative founders who care about story, detail, and asthetics)
The Challenge
The creative studio space is super crowded. Everyone offers “content creation.” Everyone says “storytelling.”
So the challenge wasn’t just building something beautiful, but it was building something that felt specific. Something with a point of view.
The Brand Strategy
I built the brand around one clear positioning idea:
Beautiful, intentional storytelling helps brands grow.
That line became the filter for everything: visual identity, messaging, content themes, even how I show up on Instagram and talk to clients. The brand needed to feel like a studio, but also personal and authentic to me and my roots and home.
Visual Identity & Creative Direction
The brand identity was designed to feel:
Mediterranean / California Coastal
Warm, sunny, soft, editorial
Old-world influence meets modern
Key creative decisions
Warm color palette to create an inviting, lifestyle-driven feel
Editorial typography to signal taste-level and elevate even simple content
Messaging that’s direct and human—smart, but truly me and authentic
The result: a brand that looks elevated and feels approachable.
Results (In Just 6 Months)
Within six months of launching The Rachel Edit brand presence, I generated:
One retainer client directly from Instagram outreach through my brand account
One project-based client directly from Instagram outreach through my brand account
From there, I began signing multiple retainer clients through referrals and search-based outreach.
It made it easier to sell, easier to refer, and easier to grow.
